LDRSHIP Award
LOYALTY, DUTY, RESPECT, SELFLESS SERVICE, HONOR, INTEGRITY, PERSONAL COURAGE

The Foundation established the LDRSHIP Award in 2004 to recognize and honor exceptional career college students who have served their country honorably in the military and decided to further their education. The LDRSHIP Award offers up to $5,000 in cash grants to active duty, reservist or honorably discharged military personnel or retired U.S. military veterans attending an Imagine America participating institution.

Policies and Procedures


Applicant:
  • Must be an active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired member of the U.S. military attending an Imagine America participating institution.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student in his/her course of study whose graduation date is after December 31st.
  • Must have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA.
  • Must currently have a 95 percent or higher attendance record.
  • Must obtain a written recommendation from a faculty/administrator representative of his/her career college.
  • Must include a copy of his/her current college transcript with application.
  • If applicable, must include a copy of his/her DD214/DD215.

Imagine America Foundation:
  • Notifies student of approval/denial of his/her application.
  • Reserves the right to prorate the Award (up to $5,000) over more than one (1) payment period/quarter/semester.
  • Award will be forwarded and applied to student's outstanding career college tuition balance.
  • Award is nontransferable, nonnegotiable and nonrefundable.
  • Award can be revoked if recipient's current education is discontinued for any reason.
  • The Imagine America Foundation will start accepting nominations for the 2009 LDRSHIP in January 2009.
