Imagine America Foundation Announces The Military Leadership Award Recipient - Yanse Aseng
HIALEAH, Fla. - (October 19, 2007) The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) is proud to announce that Yanse Aseng has received the Military Leadership Award. Aseng attends Florida National College in Hialeah, Fla., and studies Criminal Justice.
During his four years of service in the U.S. Army, Aseng was deployed to both Kuwait and Iraq, and earned the rank of Sergeant. His honors and awards include the Army Commendation with Valor Device, three Army Commendation Medals and the Iraq Campaign Medal. He was also awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining injuries during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
After spending years of his life providing extraordinary service, Aseng is now an extraordinary student with perfect attendance and a 4.0 GPA. Despite the fact that he is working and raising a family, he has made the Director's List three times. "He represents what our military and our students strive to be: honorable, dedicated, committed and distinguished," said Elizabeth Barcena, Criminal Justice and Paralegal Department Chair at Florida National College.
Imagine America Foundation established the Military Leadership Award in 2004 to help those who have served America attain career education. Through this national aid program, as much as $5,000 in scholarships is made available to qualified active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veterans of a United States military service branch attending an Imagine America-participating or Career College Associationmember college.
