Imagine America Foundation Announces The Military Leadership Award Recipient - Dennis Johnson
PINEBLUFF, N.C. - (October 22, 2007) The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) is proud to announce that Dennis Johnson has received the Military Leadership Award. Johnson attends Grantham University and studies Business Administration.
Johnson served in the U.S. Army for 21 years, where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant and was deployed 56 times to countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Cuba and Panama. He is also the recipient of honors and awards such as the Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, Army Superior Unit Award, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation.
After spending decades of his life providing extraordinary service, Johnson is now an extraordinary student with a 3.54 GPA. After retiring from the military, he gained employment as Chief of Police in the Marshall Islands. Online education has allowed Johnson to pursue his Bachelor's degree despite living in a remote location. "Grantham University has worked with me to find the degree program that matched my needs as well as maximizing all of my previous education, training and life skills," said Johnson.
Imagine America Foundation established the Military Leadership Award in 2004 to help those who have served America attain career education. Through this national aid program, as much as $5,000 in scholarships is made available to qualified active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veterans of a United States military service branch attending an Imagine America-participating or Career College Associationmember college.
