After World War II, in order to remain competitive with public schools, private career schools updated their curricula and expanded their schedules to include night and weekend classes. One innovative school - The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - recognized the need to provide quality programs at convenient times by offering special summer, day, and evening sessions. They also increased the number of evening and Saturday classes during the regular school year as well.
