Established in 1841 by Peter Duff, Duff’s Mercantile College is still in operation in Pittsburgh, PA. Although its ownership – and name – has changed several times, Duff’s Business Institute (now Everest Institute), is chartered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and recognized as the oldest private career school in continual operation in the United States.
